In a cold winter day, the last light after the sunset keeps the floating pavilion in an atmosphere of stillness. In this fleeting instant you can hear the steps and the thoughts of the people who came here to rest and listen to the feeble voice of the lake. The cherry tree looks at its bare branches into the water mirror, waiting for the spring to cover itself with an enchanting dress made of pink flowers. But it’s not yet the time; after this instant of stillness will come the night and maybe the snow.
This is an HDR blending of three long exposures, taken in Nara with my Pentax K-5 and the smc DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited wide lens. I tried to keep the colors and the light as natural as possible, to represent the original atmosphere of this beautiful place.
