In the Unryuin there is a special room with four shoji, each one of them has a tiny window in the center. Their purpose is to show different glimpses of the same garden and give the opportunity to the guest to contemplate those views as single gems of beauty, which change with the seasons. The painting on the two fusuma brings to mind the image of distant lands, fading into the fog as a blurry dream.

For me it’s been a unique experience and, apart from the photographic opportunity, I had some beautiful minutes during which I freed my mind and felt a “glimpse” of peace.

This image is the result of the HDR tonemapping of three exposures, with 2EV of difference one from the other. I took this scene with the most wide angle lens I own, to show the elements I talked about.
